Learning Something New is Messy - Part 2

In my last post, I’d declared I was going to make a cloth reference book of embroidery stitches as a way to practice. I’ve changed directions again. I found it difficult to practice stitches, while also trying to create a pretty page design. So, I decided to order some patterns. A PDF of snowflake patterns - they will become Christmas ornaments - and some pre-printed flour sack towels. (They will never be used as towels though!)

I traced out the first snowflake and got a start. (The color is navy, although it looks black in this photo.) So far, this is just stem stitch.

Not a lot to show at this juncture, but it’s a start!
